Our School

The Parkview Family works as a team to ENGAGE and INSPIRE all students to grow and ACHIEVE success.

About Our School

Welcome to Parkview Elementary, a student-centered school where every child is valued, supported, and inspired to succeed. As proud Parkview Tigers, we are part of the Smith-Cotton family and serve as a feeder school for Smith-Cotton High School and the Smith-Cotton Tigers.

At Parkview, our dedicated staff takes great pride in creating engaging learning experiences that encourage students to be active participants in their education. We believe learning is most meaningful when students have opportunities to share their ideas, make choices, collaborate with others, and experience success. Our teachers serve as facilitators of learning, helping students build confidence, responsibility, and a lifelong love of learning.

Parkview Elementary is one of six elementary schools in the Sedalia School District 200. We serve approximately 400 students in kindergarten through third grade and are supported by a caring team of about 60 staff members. Since opening in 1990, Parkview has remained committed to fostering a positive, inclusive environment where students, staff, families, and the community work together to ensure every child grows and achieves success.

Welcome to Parkview Elementary!

We are proud to be a school where students, staff, and families come together to create a warm, welcoming environment that everyone is excited to be part of each day.

At Parkview, we believe in growing the whole child — socially, emotionally, and academically. Our school mission guides our work: The Parkview family works as a team to engage and inspire all students to grow and achieve success. We know that students are most successful when schools and families work together as partners. We encourage parents and guardians to stay involved, communicate regularly with teachers, attend school events, and actively participate in their child's educational journey.

Regular attendance is one of the most important factors in student success. Every school day provides valuable opportunities for learning, relationship-building, and growth. Our goal is for every student to maintain 95% attendance or higher, helping them stay connected to their learning and reach their fullest potential.

To help foster strong connections across grade levels, our school family is divided into Houses — smaller communities designed to build relationships, encourage teamwork, celebrate accomplishments, and strengthen our sense of belonging. Through our House System, students learn the importance of character, leadership, and supporting one another.

We are committed to creating a positive school culture where every child feels safe, valued, supported, and inspired to reach their full potential. Thank you for partnering with us and trusting us with your child's education. Together, we can make this a wonderful year of learning, growth, and success.

We're so glad you're part of the Parkview family!  #PKVProud
